ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – One of the largest 4th of July celebrations in the country gets underway tomorrow at Forest Park.
Fair St. Louis chairman Parker Condie says despite the move from the riverfront, the fireworks show will still wrap up all three nights of the Fair, but they’ll use smaller shells because the audience will be closer to the action.
“The view will be just the same, and probably even more spectacular,” he says. “So, from the perspective of the fair-goer, it’ll be a great show.”
The change in location for this year’s Fair has many people wondering where they will park.
More 4th Of July Info:
Condie says it’s definitely something they gave a lot of thought after moving from the usual location underneath the Arch.
“Whether you’re coming from the North, the South, the West or the East, any direction you’re going coming from, we have a step-by-step guided map to walk you through the park,” he says.
Condie says there’s premium parking on the Muny lot, reduced-rate parking close to the park, and free parking if you’re patient and don’t mind walking a little.
It can all be found on the Fair St. Louis website.
New attractions this year include the Flying Wallendas high-wire act and ski shows on the Grand Basin.
Fair St. Louis begins at 5 p.m. Thursday and runs through Saturday at Forest Park.
