DESLOGE, Mo. (AP) – Residents of one small southeast Missouri town can be excused if they haven’t paid their water bills because the bills are all lost in the mail.
The Daily Journal newspaper in Park Hills, Missouri reports that Desloge officials delivered water bills to the local post office on Feb. 25, to be mailed out to customers. Now, postal officials have no idea where those bills are.
City Administrator Greg Camp says the bills, like all local mail, are sent to a sorting facility and then sent back to the post office. They still have not arrived at the post office.
Camp says payment due dates will be extended, but customers can also pay their bills by stopping by or calling City Hall.
