CHICAGO (KMOX) – The Illinois Attorney General has filed suit against the brother of Sheri Coleman.
Lisa Madigan’s suit accuses Mario Decicco of misappropriating over $33,000 from the charity, Sheri Ann and Her Boys.
Coleman and her two sons were murdered in their Columbia, Illinois, home in 2009 by Sheri’s husband.
Decicco set up the charity in honor of his sister, and money collected was supposed to go for violence prevention.
The lawsuit alleges that at least $33,173 of the charity’s funds appeared to have been improperly withdrawn as cash and spent on expenses outside of the organization’s mission.
Madigan wants Decicco removed as president of Sheri Ann and Her Boys, and the charity dissolved.
