ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – With word that the Atlanta Braves have Comcast anchoring a high-rise outside their planned new stadium, and Kansas City’s Power-and-Light District getting a high-rise apartment tower, we wanted to know what’s next for Ballpark Village.
“We’re looking at some things, you know, we’d like to do a phase two sooner rather than later,” says Cardinals president Bill DeWitt III.
DeWitt says now that they have a year of phase one under their belts, they’re looking at a parking garage, office tower and condo tower.
“Residential has shown some strength in this market, particularly downtown, which is great for us to see because I think that really would help our project, to have residential,” DeWitt says.
He also says the Cardinals are trying to be in the discussion with both the city and county when there’s a company looking to expand.
DeWitt agrees that an office with a view of the Busch Stadium field should be a big selling point to any executive.
