Maria, Brian and our producer Kenny all showed up for work on Saturday in Blues’ gear, ready to cheer ‘the boys’ on to victory. Brian and Maria are confident, Kenny (who has a Manny Legace sweater!) not so much.
During the course of the morning we got some good information on a shredding event, how we can help people with personal hygiene items and learned about a big celebration in Ferguson.
With identity theft becoming a bigger problem every day, the Better Business Bureau is trying to help by sponsoring shredding events Saturday. If you click here, you’ll hear CEO Michelle Corey fill us in on the “Shred Day” events at the St. Louis Galleria and the Schnucks on Troy Rd. in Edwardsville. She also has some good information on what you should shred to protect yourself.
Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri Spokeswoman Kathryn Kiefer tells us about the “April Showers” project. This week scouts are dropping off bags. Next weekend, after we fill them up with personal care items, they’ll pick ’em up. You can also drop off the items are area Walmarts. You can hear our conversation here.
One of Brian’s favorite places, Ferguson Brewing, is marking its fifth anniversary Saturday. Nearly two-dozen other breweries are there to help celebrate. Here, General Manager Rob Wiesen talks about the party and how the brewhouse, and other businesses, are doing in the wake of the Ferguson protests.
