Warrenton, MO (KMOX) All lanes of westbound and eastbound 70 have been reopened at Highway 47 in Warrenton. All lanes on Highway 47 are also open.

Warrenton, MO (KMOX)- Crews hope to have I-70 and Highway 47 reopened at Warrenton by around 2 p.m.. The highways have been closed for several hours because of anhydrous ammonia leaking from two 1,000 gallon tanks that fell off a farm truck on the interstate. Warrenton Fire Department Spokesman Scott Weir tells KMOX I-70 is closed between Wright City and Truxton, Highway 47 is closed in Warrenton, and ten businesses have been evacuated because the chemical is an inhalation hazard. Weir says the evacuated businesses are mainly gas stations and fast food restaurants.

Weir says you should use the service roads to bypass the shutdown.

Keep it on KMOX and check back at KMOX.COM for updates.
