ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – A spokeswoman for Hardee’s says the company is looking at moving its headquarters out of St. Louis to Tennessee.
The fast-food restaurant chain is currently headquartered at 100 N. Broadway, just a few blocks from the Gateway Arch in downtown.
Missy Kelley, Chief Operating Officer of Downtown STL Inc., says the organization has been asking the city and state to take a fresh look at incentives.
“There is opportunities for us to do more,” Kelley says.
She added the city and state have to take a fresh look at the incentives they’re offering. And Kelley says Downtown STL Inc., has already been in contact with Hardee’s about its needs.
A Hardee’s spokeswoman told KMOX News, “We are exploring office space options, which include Nashville.”
Hardee’s CEO, in the past, has criticized St. Louis’ economic development efforts – or perceived lack thereof. Past comments have also been made about moving to no-income-tax states.
