CRESTWOOD, Mo. (KMOX) — Another hurdle has been cleared for $28 million in public incentives for Crestwood Mall’s re-developer.
Crestwood aldermen voted Tuesday night to set up a TIF commission.
Former Mayor Jeff Schlink called it a premature move.
“Now we’re hearing that this is a fluid project,” Schlink said. “The decisions haven’t been made and it’s unclear what that final project is going to look like.”
Aldermen say the TIF commission is a procedural step, and they still have a lot of negotiating to do with developers.
Schlink adds the last time they tried to re-do the mall, the developer didn’t go along when the city asked for changes.
