ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – UPDATED (11:59 a.m.) A drummer who plays outside Busch Stadium before and after ballgames lost his earnings Tuesday night after being attacked by about a dozen people.
The 37-year-old man tells police it happened while he was playing at Broadway and Clark, outside the Stadium Garage East at about 10:20 p.m.
The man says he was approached by 10 to 15 people, including a couple he knew by their first names.
He says they surrounded and threatened him, and then one hit him in the back of the head, knocking him down. When he tried to get up, they hit him again.
A witness says he saw some take money from his tip jar before they all ran off.
The man escaped with a few scratches and refused medical treatment.
