ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Hundreds of job-seekers filled the gymnasium at Harris Stowe State University Monday for Congressman Lacy Clay’s 10th annual Career Fair.
Mercy Health Care recruiter Sakeba Dellitch attended the fair for the company.
“This is probably the best time,” says Dellitch. “The summer is going to be our busiest time that we are going to have and then we’ll probably have a time, of a few months, where it goes down and back up again.”
Some attendees liked the interpersonal aspect of the event and were glad to have the opportunity to leave an impression versus just being on a computer.
Major area employers like Boeing, BJC Healthcare, Express Scripts and CBS Radio were in attendance with more than 1,000 job openings available. More than 100 area employers participated this year.
