ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham says to Donald Trump on CBS News – “You’re slandering anybody and everybody to stay in the news. You know, run for president, but don’t be the world’s biggest jackass.”
And yet, Trump remains at the top of the GOP polls. But Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill says she’s not worried.
“I have a hard time envisioning him as president of the United States. And I don’t think I’m alone in that. I think most Americans have a hard time envisioning him president of the United States,” McCaskill says.
She says the person elected president of the United States should have a message of hope and optimism – not name-calling, and narcissistic bloviating.
He doesn’t like much of what Trump has to say, but Missouri Sen. Roy Blunt admits that the abrasive Republican presidential hopeful might be on point about the Veterans Administration.
Blunt says Trump’s personal attack on John McCain was “unacceptable,” but he can’t argue with Trump’s assertion that the VA has not done well under McCain’s supervision.
“The Cochran facility in St. Louis is now getting ready for what appears to be its eighth interim director in two years. There’s a veterans problem that ought to be talked about, and Senator McCain is part of that discussion,” Blunt says.
