ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – With just a few clicks, you can find out everything that St. Louis County spends money on, down to the dollar, with pie charts and graphs that fly across your computer screen.
It’s the county’s new interactive budget portal, and St. Louis County Executive Steve Stenger says it’s just the beginning.
“We hear a lot [about] innovation and disrupting things,” Stenger says, “and we are attempting to disrupt many things, on many levels, to lead to a much better quality of life for our St. Louis County residents.”
The webpage allows visitors to navigate through St. Louis County’s 2015 budget to see who is spending, how much, and on what. For example, you can see that the St. Louis County Park Rangers were allowed to spend $2,500 on overtime pay this year, but they have already spent $188 over budget for overtime pay.
