ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Anheuser-Busch is converting all 97 shipping trucks in its St. Louis fleet to natural gas powered trucks. The switch will decrease it’s annual carbon-dioxide emission by 2,500 tons, says AB’s Senior Director Transportation, James Sembrot.

The Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fueled fleet is the second AB has converted. Last year they updated all 66 trucks in its Houston brewery, which together with the St. Louis fleet accounts for over 30 percent of its national shipping vehicles.

St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay thanked AB for setting an example to all local and national businesses and following its ‘Seed to Sip’ motto.

AB says the 97 trucks from St. Louis will cover 11 million miles every year.
