ST. LOUIS (News release) – The Cardinals are teaming up with the St. Louis Blues to help kick off their 2015-2016 season during the first-ever St. Louis Blues Theme Night at Busch Stadium on Monday, September 21.
“The Cardinals and Blues have always had a great friendship that extends all the way from our ownership to our fans,” said Bill DeWitt III, President of the St. Louis Cardinals. “We’re looking forward to hosting both organizations together and celebrating our mutual success on the diamond and the ice.”
Fans who purchase the special Blues Night Theme Ticket will receive a limited edition Blues themed Cardinals cap. Prior to the game, fans can get autographs from Blues and Cardinals alumni during a pregame pep rally, complete with Louie and the Blue Crew. Members of the 2015-2016 Blues will be introduced on field during a special pregame ceremony, and the Cardinals will have additional Blues prizes and surprises throughout the game.
To mark the occasion, Cardinals players will wear a St. Louis Blues themed jersey/sweater during batting practice. Following the game, the batting practice-worn jerseys will be available for auction with proceeds benefiting Cardinals Care – the team’s charitable arm. Fans will also be able to purchase Blues themed Cardinals T-shirts, available exclusively at the ballpark.
“We are thrilled to be a part of this special night at Busch Stadium,” said Chris Zimmerman, President and CEO of Business Operations for the St. Louis Blues. The relationship between the Blues and Cardinals is one of the reasons why St. Louis is such a great sports city, and we always cherish the opportunity to strengthen our bond.”
