ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Ameren Missouri customers will see their fuel adjustment charge go from $4.62 to $5.08 per month on their electric bill. The hike was approved by the Public Service Commission to adjust for what Ameren Missouri pays to run its power plants.
PSC spokesperson Kevin Kelly says the monthly bill for a typical residential customer will be about one dollar less at the end of this month, than it was in August of 2013.
“When we talk about fuel cost we are talking about cost that occur for natural gas and for coal to operate their power plants.” Kelly says.
All of Ameren Missouri’s 1.2 million customers will see the increase starting September 24.
