ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – There’s a new Hall of Fame Plaza outside Scottrade Center in downtown St. Louis.

Surrounding the statues of three Blues hockey hall of famers are dozens of commemorative bricks purchased by fans.

During Saturday’s unveiling ceremony, emcee Chris Kerber called one fan out of the crowd to read the surprise message inscribed on his.

“Will you marry me, Melanie? Love, Brennen #LGB,” said Brennen Sowa to Melanie Smithton. He even got down on one knee as he proposed.

Smithton said yes, prompting dozens of fans as well as Blues legends Bernie Federko, Brett Hull, and Al MacInnis to applaud.

Following the plaza ceremony, fans were invited inside Scottrade Center to watch the Blues practice.
