ST. LOUIS (KMOX)(UPDATE Sept. 24 11:02 a.m.) The victim of the below incident has been identified as Dominic Smith, 36, of the 4700 block of Oldenburg.

The investigation is ongoing.

St. Louis police are hoping graphic photos of a homicide victim’s tattoos will help identify the man.

Police say the victim was white, between 20 and 25 years old and 5’9″ tall.

He was wearing a tan Ralph Lauren polo shirt, black Dickie trousers, a black leather woven belt and a pair of black Gilden undershorts.

The victim’s body was found in the Mississippi River last Wednesday morning at 9:30.

An autopsy revealed the cause of death was gunshot wounds.
