MASCOUTAH, Ill. (KMOX) – Allegiant Air will soon be adding flights from MidAmerica Airport in Mascoutah to Punta Gorda/Fort Meyers, Florida.

The flights will be on Thursday and Sunday, beginning Feb. 18. Many are priced at $50.50, but some are as high as $104.

The Las Vegas-based airline recently added flights between MidAmerica and Vegas. It also flies to and from Orlando and St. Petersburg/Clearwater.

The airport director also has his eyes on the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) headquarters going near Scott Air Force Base.

Airport director Tim Cantwell tells KMOX the airport is steadily growing its revenue with the added flights.

And if the NGA locates near Scott?

“Well it’s positively an increase with opportunities from our analysis right now of service in to and out of the Washington D.C.-area,” he says. “We’ve been approached by a number of airlines already.”

Cantwell says those airlines have come back and asked MidAmerica to update their forecast based on what may happen.
