ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Before you settle in for the “Big Game” this Sunday, you’re invited to a ceremony to bid one last farewell to the team formerly known as the St. Louis Rams.
The group behind the “Don’t Burn Your Rams Stuff” movement is getting ready to ship a lot of that gear out West. Mastermind Mike LeBlanc says the ceremony will happen Sunday at the Manchester American Legion Post 208 on Old Sulphur Springs Road at 2 p.m.
“We will allow any fan that wants to come up and they can say the name of their favorite player,” LeBlanc says. “…or they can describe their favorite play or their can describe a fan experience that they had.”
Some Rams flags found in the donations will be retired, military-style, and glasses will be raised to toast the Rams. LeBlanc estimates they’ve gathered 2200 Rams jerseys, t-shirts, flags, banners and other paraphernalia since the team left town.
Most of the collected items will be shipped to LA for needy vets, but cold weather gear stays here for those who need it.
