ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Radiation in the creek, cancer clusters, and digging up soil are all topics this week at a special meeting in north St. Louis County to deal with Coldwater Creek.
The Army Corps of Engineers, the CDC and the St. Louis Department of County Health are hosting a forum Wednesday night in Florissant. Community Organizer Jannelle Wright says many past and current residents along the 19-mile creek have questions.
“People want to know ‘what does this mean for me’,” Jannelle says. “Was I affected by this in some way, could I possibly have been affected in some way.”
Jannelle says anyone who has in the past or is currently living in along Coldwater Creek in towns such as Florissant, Hazelwood, Blackjack, Unincorporated North St. Louis County, Spanish Lake and St. Ann.
The meeting is set for Wednesday night from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the James J Eagan Civic Center in Florissant.
