ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – “I’m not a good thief.” That’s what an employee of the contractor that provides wheelchair services at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport reportedly told police after being accused of stealing $800 from a blind passenger.

Police say that after 23-year-old Justin Gillespie, who works for Air Serv, helped the Washington D.C. woman through security in a wheelchair, the woman stopped to use the restroom, leaving her bag with the money in it on the wheelchair.

Gillespie is seen on surveillance video, according to police, reaching into the bag.

Gillespie reportedly told officer he did not remember taking her to the restroom, but “If I’m going to court, they’re going to believe the video.”

He’s charged with felony stealing.
