Welcome to Mother’s Day weekend and National Beer Pong Day! As we got ready for today’s big game 5 of the Blues/Stars series and the Cardinals/Pirates matchup, we learned about our Voice of Caring Partner for May and next weekend’s letter carriers’ food drive.

You’ve probably heard of our VOC Partner Trailnet, but what exactly do they do? Executive Director Ralph Pfremmer tells us here. To find out more click here.

You’ll be getting a little something extra in your mailbox today, or early next week. A card reminding you that next weekend is Stamp Out Hunger weekend, when letter carriers collect canned goods and non-perishable items to help supply food banks. Bob Rapazardo tells us about it here.

The latest superhero movie is “Captain America: Civil War.” Harry Hamm saw it with his 13-year-old grandson. You can find out what both thought of it here.

We didn’t have a whole lot of birthdays to celebrate today, but we did salute two soap opera stars, a member of the Grateful Dead and a Hunger Gamer. That list is here.

On Sunday, we’ll preview next weekend’s wonderful “Art on the Square” event in Belleville and get the lowdown on the upcoming Dragon Boat Races at Creve Coeur Lake.

Join us, won’t you? Until then: LGB!!!
