On this Sunday morning we continue with thoughts and prayers for peace in our country and for the recovery of Ballwin Police Officer Mike Flamion.

On the program this morning, we learned about a neat partnership that will allow young people with Down Syndrome to watch the growing cycle of food, got Harry’s take on a new guy flick and celebrated some holidays and birthdays.

The Franciscan Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help have teamed up with the Pujols Family Foundation to have children with Down Syndrome plant a watermelon patch at the Sisters’ farm near DeSoto and care for and harvest the melons! The Sisters’ Mission Relationship Director, Randy Raley, tells us all about it here. For more information click here or call Randy at 314-965-3700.

It sounds like one of those goofy guy movies, but is it? Harry Hamm reviews “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates” here.

Today would be a good day to take your teddy bears into the woods for a picnic that features pina coladas and some simple poetry. You can find out why here.

Birthday celebrants today include The Raging Bull, Woody’s son and a Modern Family member. Find out who they are here.

And, as a bonus, here’s Fred Bodimer’s Week in Health, which includes news on a new over-the-counter acne medicine and an update on Zika.

Thank you for joining us this weekend. Here’s hoping for a peaceful week. We’ll visit with you again next Saturday.
