ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – It’s time to take advantage of the 2016 sales tax-free weekend, so bust out those back-to-school shopping lists and fill a few shopping carts!

The three-day sales tax holiday begins at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 5, and runs through Sunday, Aug. 7.

Certain back-to-school purchases, such as clothing, school supplies, computers and other items as defined by the statute, are exempt from sales tax for this time period, only.

CLICK HERE to see a list of Missouri cities, counties, and districts that have OPTED OUT of participating in the 2016 holiday.

Illinois does not participate in the tax-free holiday.
