ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – “He’s a gracious and appreciative person. I don’t think sometimes you see that side of him.”
That’s what Missouri Republican Party chair John Hancock said Saturday after a private meeting with Donald Trump at St. Louis Lambert International Airport.
The Republican Presidential candidate met with a small group of supporters on the tarmac after his visit to St. Louis to attend the funeral of conservative activist Phyllis Schlafly.
“He’s truly appreciative of the hard work that a lot of these grassroots volunteers have been doing for months and months now. He seemed genuinely optimistic about the outcome of the election,” Hancock told KMOX.
After that, Hancock and select others got a private tour of the Donald Trump campaign jet, met Trump’s wife Melania and his campaign manager Kellyanne Conway, and discussed Missouri as a key state.
“The polls are trending up here, and he was well aware of that. We also discussed the state of the national campaign. He seemed to be extremely enthusiastic about how the numbers are looking,” Hancock said.
