ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Chris Koster’s gubernatorial campaign recently launched, a “fact check” website where voters can “get the whole story” – but is it the whole story?

Campaign communications director David Turner says they’re not pretending to be a news site. “You can see that were not making this stuff up…we are taking, whether it is public news accounts, public records and putting it together to tell the story,” he says.

Fact check websites typically fact check both campaigns, but Koster’s website doesn’t. Republican opponent Eric Grietens has taken issue with at least one of Koster’s negative ads which doesn’t appear on the website.

Turner says they gather information from editorials, news articles and fact checking sites and put them in one place.

“I think this is just another tool in the tool box to give folks a clearinghouse to get the facts they need to get a better of the claims being made in this campaign,” he says.
