MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. (KMOX) – Maryland Heights’ Police Chief is back on the job after a two week paid suspension.

Chief Bill Carson and Deputy Chief Joe Delia were placed on leave in late August after a number of complaints surfaced about an allegedly “unfair work environment.”

The city, in a statement, says a “thorough assessment” of police department operations begins this week. It also says the preliminary review showed Carson likely wasn’t the reason for the number of complaints filed.

Deputy Chief Delia is still on leave.
