PATTONVILLE, Mo. (KMOX) – A Pattonville Middle School eighth-grader will be featured in the 2017 Guinness Book of World Records.

Why? Tyler Wright has the world’s largest male afro.

His afro measures 10 inches in height, 9 inches in width, and 5 feet, 10 inches in circumference.

Wright has been growing out his hair since he was in third grade because he saw a picture of his dad with a similar style in the ’70s.

The original goal was to grow his afro bigger than his father’s, but once he passed his dad’s hair length, Wright kept growing it – long enough to set a world record.
