ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – (UPDATED 7:25 a.m.) Xavier Perkins from O’Fallon, Missouri has been arrested and charged with the murder of 54-year-old Monica Shaw in the Central West End.

Perkins, 18, is accused of shooting and killing Shaw in the 400 block of N. Sarah Street on September 12th.

Police say the suspect and the people in his car were in the city looking to buy marijuana.

One of the people, a minor whose identity hasn’t been released, allegedly told police he saw Perkins point a gun at Shaw and fired it.

An 18-year-old has been arrested in connection with the death of a 54-year-old woman earlier this week in the Central West End.

Police say Monica Shaw was likely the target of a robbery.

Shaw was shot to death shortly before 11 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of North Sarah Street. She lived in the 4100 block of Enright Avenue.
