(CBS) – Could the mouse end up catching the bird?

Disney is now considered by some to be a leading candidate to buy Twitter.

An analyst with Monness Crespi Hardt says Disney is the most likely buyer, thanks in part to Twitter CEO and St. Louis native Jack Dorsey sitting on Disney’s board, and that Disney could use Twitter’s distribution abilities.

The equity research and trading company says Microsoft is not likely to buy Twitter due to its purchase of LinkedIn, while saying that Salesforce lacks a direct reason to buy Twitter, and that Google could face anti-trust issues if it were to make a deal for Twitter.

Talk of Twitter’s sale has been simmering for months now.
