CLAYTON, Mo. (KMOX) – The vote was unanimous.

The Clayton Board of Alderman approved the nearly $1 billion Centene expansion downtown. The move is expected to bring around 2,000 jobs to the area.

Other individual plans to add retail, residential and hotel space to the undeveloped land are still awaiting architectural approval.

Some residents have said they are worried the expansion would cause traffic concerns, while others expressed concerns about how much the move would cost tax payers.

However, Alderman Ira Berkowitz says they can’t decide against the expansion based on of fears for the future.
