ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – The recent spree of menacing clowns threatening schools is putting administrators and police on edge, but students are suffering as well.
Rochelle Walker says her 13-year-old daughter, a student in the St. Louis Public School District, is now having nightmares. Her daughter was never afraid of normal, happy clowns but the threat of creepy clowns coming to school is too close for comfort. Walker says her daughter couldn’t stop “shaking like a leaf” when she told her about the nightmares.
Walker’s daughter isn’t on social media but she heard about the threats from other students. Now they all fear for their safety.
“‘What’s gonna happen to us, we hope they don’t come to our schools.’ This is a consensus among all of these kids,” Walker says.
There have been no sightings and the threats posted on Facebook against several areas schools appear to be unfounded.
Walker consoled her daughter and told her clowns were just people in makeup; however, her message to those scaring her daughter is clear: “For the people who are doing this, these clowns, please stop!”
