PHELPS COUNTY, Mo. (KMOX) – The Phelps County Sheriff’s Department has released photos of a deceased woman’s tattoos in an attempt to identify her after she was found on the shoulder of Interstate 44.
The white female was found Oct. 1 as officers responded to a report of a body near the roadway.
She was wearing a blue and red colored sun dress and flip-flops. Her hair was dark, but had been dyed dark blue.
A tattoo of a black and white wolf was on her right shoulder blade. A tattoo of a red heart with wings and butterflies was on her left shoulder blade. A tattoo of a vine was on her right ankle, which descended along the top of her foot. A lengthy scar was visible on her left thigh.
An autopsy was conducted in Columbia, Missouri, revealing that the woman was approximately 25 to 35 years old.
A cause of death has yet to be determined.
