This morning we talked about what happened to struggling urban areas, got a review of Ben Affleck’s new movie and celebrated the birthday of a former Cardinals’ catcher and longtime broadcaster.

Gerald Taylor has written a report entitled “Unmade in America: Industrial Flight and the Decline of Black Communities”. In it, he outlines industrial flight going back to the 1970’s and how it left behind poverty, joblessness and high crime in urban communities. You can hear him discuss it here. To read it, click here.

Ben Affleck’s new flick is “The Accountant”. Harry Hamm’s review is here.

Among those celebrating birthdays today are that former Cardinals’ catcher, an actor who dug his way to redemption and two members of Dead and Company. That list is here.

We hope you’re enjoying your weekend. We’ll talk with you again next Saturday, when we’ll be another week closer to the election!!!!
