ST. LOUIS (KMOX/Blues) – The St. Louis Blues have released its 2016 Winter Classic jersey.

“We are excited to unveil our jerseys for the 2017 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic,” said Blues Chairman and Governor Tom Stillman. “In celebration of our 50th Anniversary, we are proud to pay tribute to our original uniforms and the franchise pioneers who first wore them in 1967.”

The Blues’ Winter Classic uniform is a re-creation of the club’s inaugural look from the 1967-68 season. The gear features historically-accurate fonts and team striping, a ribbed crewneck collar, the vintage blue color and the original Blue Note crest from the first season, making this an authentic design to create a true outdoor game original.

Fans who pre-ordered a Winter Classic jersey at stlouisblues.com and chose the shipping option will have their jersey shipped in the next 7-10 days. Fans who pre-ordered but opted to pick up their jersey in person can do so Wednesday at the True Blues Mobile Store at Clark Avenue Plaza outside Scottrade Center until the start of the game vs. Chicago. Fans must provide a valid proof of purchase. Pre-ordered jerseys will also be available for pick up during the game outside Section 122 with valid proof of purchase.

The Blackhawks also unveiled it jersey for the game:

Fans who have not pre-ordered a Winter Classic jersey can purchase one now at the True Blues Authentic Team Store at Scottrade Center or online at STLAuthentics.com. These are the only retailers with jerseys featuring the authentic Winter Classic patch.

Last week, the jersey was posted on the NHL’s website for a very short time. And whether it was a mistake, or marketing ploy, the real deal is here and ready for the Jan. 2 game vs. the Chicago Blackhawks.
