ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Tony Hrkac isn’t known for just his nearly impossible to pronounce last name. He also scored four goals for the St. Louis Blues in Game 6 of the first round of the 1988 NHL playoffs. And in the net for the Chicago Blackhawks that night, was current Blues TV broadcaster, Darren Pang.

Hrkac is now a scout for theTampa Bay Lightning, and his duties include providing information on the St. Louis Blues. So he often has a chance to relive the moment with Pang.

“I see (Pang) all the time and he brings it up every once in a while,” Hrkac says. “We have a lot of fun with it.”

Hrkac has plenty of other great memories with St. Louis, who drafted him as an 18-year-old in 1984. Although he played fewer than three seasons as a Blue, he says playing with guys like Brett Hull, Bernie Federko and Rick Meagher are things he will never forget:

You can hear more of Hrkac’s conversation with KMOX’s Alex Ferrario during Tuesday night’s Blues game at 7 p.m. against the Buffalo Sabers on AM1120 or online at and
