ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Resolving who will manage Lambert’s Airport Police. A meeting set for Wednesday is suppose to settle that dispute. As KMOX reported yesterday, St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson said he is no longer managing the Airport Police until a Social Security Administration problem is resolved.
Aldermanic Board President Lewis Reed did not want to elaborate on specifics of the Social Security issue. Reed was asked how they get around the issue though.
“I don’t think we have all of the data to say that is indeed 100% a problem and that’s part of what will be looking at. Certainly we know, just removing the agreement and walking away from it is not the best course of action.”
He says it is ‘imperative’ for an agreement to be in place between the two departments.
Reed expects tomorrow’s 1:30 p.m., meeting between Lambert’s Director and Chief Sam Dotson to produce a solution, so St. Louis Police will once again manage the Airport Police Department.
