ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOX) – Charges have been issued in the April case of a carjacking suspect who led police on a high-speed chase that struck another car near St. Louis Lambert International Airport and killed a 9-year-old boy.

Darian Cummings, 17, of St. Louis faces several charges, including second-degree murder.

Cummings is being held on a $1,000,000 cash-only bond.

Normandy police had picked up a license plate earlier that day of a car that had been carjacked at gunpoint in St. Louis city in the early morning hours.

Police chased the car to the St. Louis airport, where the suspect vehicle T-boned the vehicle children were passengers in as it was leaving the airport.

Two children were hospitalized; Caleb Lee, 9, who died from his injuries, and a 5-year-old boy.
