ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Your beer could soon be delivered in a Tesla.

St. Louis-based Anheuser-Busch has placed an order for 40 all-electric Tesla semi-trucks. They’re self-driving, too.

“The Budweiser-maker is looking to cut fuel costs and vehicle emissions, and will use the trucks for deliveries to wholesalers within 150 to 200 miles of its brewery locations, easily withing the semis’ 500-mile range, promised by CEO Elon Musk,” says Jason Brooks, CBS business reporter.

Tesla Inc. unveiled the semi last month. Production will begin in 2019.

AB’s Belgium-based parent, AB InBev, has a goal to cut global carbon emissions by 30 percent by 2025.
