ORLANDO (KMOX) – It’s not just front office and management hanging around the MLB Winter Meetings in Orlando, this week. There’s plenty of players there too, like one of the St. Louis Cardinals newest additions, outfielder J.B. Woodman who was acquired in a trade with Toronto for Aledmys Diaz.

J.B. Woodman

KMOX’s Chris Hrabe and Mike Claiborne are in Orlando and met the outfield prospect, who is back in his hometown for the offseason:

Need to know about Woodman:

Hometown: Orlando, Fl.

School: Ole Miss

Cardinals connections: Played with current AAA Memphis pitcher Chris Ellis at Ole Miss.

Self described “do everything” outfielder.

Told Hrabe that this offseason he has started using contacts, for better vision at the plate. Woodman struck out 157 times in 362 at-bats in 2017 in the Low-A Midwest League, hitting .240/.320/.378 with seven homers and 40 walks.

Next offseason he says he is getting married.
