UPDATED 2:23 p.m., Wednesday

ARNOLD, Mo. (KMOX) – An Arnold man accused of tackling a woman and kicking her car on a Walgreens parking lot is expected to turn himself in Wednesday.

Arnold police say at least that’s what they’re hearing from relatives of Scott Heatherly — that he’ll turn himself in with his lawyer sometime soon.

The 50-year-old auto industry worker with priors for domestic assault is charged with assault and two counts of property damage for the attack, caught on surveillance video Friday.

If he does surrender, a judge has ordered Heatherly be held on a $50,000 bail.

Our previous reporting is as follows:

Police in Arnold have identified the man caught on video assaulting a woman in an apparent road rage incident.

However, they don’t have the man — 50-year-old Scott Heatherly of Arnold — in custody, and a search is on for his whereabouts.

This goes back to Friday night when a surveillance camera outside a Walgreens drugstore caught the man assaulting a woman that he had started following closely in traffic.

She pulled into the well-lit spot, but when she tried to take a photo of the man’s license plate, the suspect tackled her to the ground, grabbed her phone, and heaved it away.

Police know Heatherly lives in the 3800 block of Petrified Forest Drive in Arnold.

Anyone who knows of his whereabouts is asked to call Arnold police at 636-296-3204.

Heatherly reportedly has a long rap sheet that includes charges of stalking and abuse.
