ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – The city of St. Louis will have a new chief of police soon as final interviews are scheduled for the next couple days.
A decision could come in the next couple weeks, likely no later than the end of the year.
Eight finalists remain. Three internal candidates, five from outside St. Louis. All eight will take an exam today and be interviewed Thursday. The top six will then appear at a town hall meeting tomorrow night from 6-8 pm at the SLU Law School on North Tucker. It is open to the public.
Whenever the final decision is made, it will come from the city’s public safety director, Jimmie Edwards.
