ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – A federal appeals court has sided with the Loop Trolley District, saying the trolley lines were not built beyond the district’s boundaries.

The tracks extend west of Kingsland Avenue and south of Lindell Boulevard which the suit claimed wasn’t allowed, but the appellate court said the tracks fall within the “approximate project description.”

“We followed the letter of the law all the way through the whole process years ago, and the courts have upheld it multiple times, and this is, I think, the last time it will be necessary,” says Loop Trolley District chairman Joe Edwards.

Edwards says this decision combined with a large donation from Clayco put this project full steam ahead, but he won’t say when the line will start operating until he knows for sure what the date will be.
