ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – A multi-state police chase ended in a crash near downtown St. Louis Wednesday evening.
Police were chasing a suspect in a recent carjacking, reaching speeds of up to 110 miles per hour. Local news TV footage showed the stolen, red Ford Fusion being chased through downtown St. Louis by several police officers.
The chase began in North City, went into Illinois twice and then back to Missouri over the Chain of Rocks Bridge, KMOV reports.
The chase ended shortly after the suspect began driving on blown tires. The car crashed on Market Street by Compton Avenue.
The 21-year-old suspect was arrested, but two others involved in the carjacking have not been arrested.
At least two cars were struck during the chase, but no bystanders were hurt.
