Greg Damon was born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and spent his teenage years in Quincy, Illinois. Upon graduation, Greg moved to St. Louis and began his career as an automotive technician in 1982. Greg is an ASE certified Master Automobile Technician with an Advanced Level Specialist Certification (L1) in advanced engine performance. He also is an ASE Certified Undercar Specialist (X1) and is a Gateway Clean Air Program Recognized Repair Technician.

Greg works for Sant Automotive, an ASE Blue Seal of Excellence repair and maintenance facility in Crestwood where he serves as General Manager and Lead Technician. At Sant Automotive, Greg’s duties include customer interaction, managing shop operations and repairing and maintaining vehicles.

After competing nationwide against the country’s top technicians and the finals being held in Las Vegas, Greg was named The Golden Mechanic by BP/Amoco in 2007. Greg became the spokesperson and liaison between the public, the technicians in his field and the scientist of BP.

Greg is married and resides in St. Charles where he loves to spend time with his family. Greg enjoys being very active with his sons, Nicholas, 8 years old, and Daniel, 3 years old. Although he no longer actively participants in sports himself, he is the coach or assistant coach to Nicholas’ baseball, soccer and basketball teams. Greg loves to fish and would like to become a professional fisherman, but he can’t seem to catch any fish big enough to keep. Greg is an avid trivia buff and enjoys playing at trivia nights or being an emcee. As his wife says, “He is the master of useless knowledge.”
