Cardinals Baseball Game
Busch Stadium
700 Clark St.
St. Louis, MO 63102
(314) 345-9600

Take dad out to the ball game. Buy him some peanuts and Crackerjacks, he’ll love that, or a beer. Single-game tickets start at around $40 but you can spend as much as $250 per ticket if you want to treat dad with a suite and upscale buffet. If dad already has season tickets, you can pick up some Cardinal Dollars (available online) for him to spend anywhere in the ballpark.

Budweiser Brewery Tour
Anheuser Busch Brewery
12th & Lynch St
St. Louis, MO 63118
(314) 577-2626

Nothing says “St. Louis” like Budweiser, and the brewery tour is a must for anyone in the Lou. Even though the brewery is no longer owned by the Busch family, it’s still an integral part of the city’s history. The tour is informative and fun, starting with the famous Clydesdale horses and dalmation dogs and finishing with a tasting of two hand-poured glasses of beer. Along the way, you and dad will learn all about the brewing and aging processes that made Budweiser a household name. Oh, and best of all, the tour is free.

Crown Candy Kitchen
1401 St. Louis Ave.
St. Louis, MO 63106
(314) 621-9650

This St. Louis landmark is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2013 and the place hasn’t changed much over those years. Older dads who are lifetime residents of the Lou will especially enjoy this blast from the past. The vintage Coca Cola advertising, antique jukebox and milkshakes and malts will take you and dad back to the 1940s or 1950s instantly. Crown still makes its own chocolate candies, so be sure to take some home for mom after you finish your sandwiches and ice cream treats.

Fast Lane Classic Cars
427 Little Hills Industrial Blvd.
St. Charles, MO 63301
(636) 940-9969

If dad loves classic cars, he will be crazy about Fast Lane. It’s free to walk around and look all you like, but all the cars are for sale, so you’d better make clear up front that you don’t plan on buying him a Shelby Cobra as a souvenir. If you’re thinking of throwing a surprise party for dad, you can sneak up to a 100 guests into the neon-decorated party room and enjoy a bird’s eye view of the classic car lot while you celebrate dad’s special day. Or, if you’re headed back toward the city on I-70, you can turn him loose for gametime in Dave & Buster’s for a while to round out the ultimate man outing.

Blueberry Hill
6504 Delmar Blvd.
St. Louis, MO 63130
(314) 727-4444
If your dad likes that old time rock ‘n roll, take him to Chuck Berry’s place on Delmar and treat him to a thick juicy burger and a pile of buffalo fries. The walls and ceiling are lined with memorabila, sure to trigger dad into telling stories about his sordid past as a rocker while you wait for your food. After you eat, you can throw some darts in the expansive dart room. If you come in the evening, you can also catch a band in the Duck Room. Chuck Berry himself still plays here regularly, but tickets sell out months in advance, so you’ll have to be on the ball if you want to give dad the ultimate Blueberry Hill Thrill.
