Since Anheuser-Busch was bought out by foreign interloper InBev, Schlafly has become St. Louis’ hometown beer. The main brewery is the Bottlworks in historic Maplewood. That location offers brewery tours, a restaurant and an outdoor seating area. The Tap Room downtown is a restaurant on one side, bar on the other, and is frequently crowded during events. Schlafly offers a mind-boggling assortment of beers, and it seems there are new additions to the lineup all the time. The beer is definitely the star at both locations, the food is simple but tasty and both locations serve a full menu.
