This event includes a 5K run, a 10K run, and a fun run and invites the whole family to participate. Awards are given to overall winners and top finishers in 5 age categories, and all children in the Fun Run get a ribbon. Advance registration is available online priced at $30 for the 5K or 10K, $15 for the Fun Run (all ages), or $70 for a family registration. Late registration andrace day registration will be availablefor slightly higher rates. 2016 will be the 42nd year for this venerable St. Louis area run day.

This is the second annual Race 4 Domestic Violence Prevention in St. Louis. Check-in begins at 7 a.m. and the green flag waves at 8 a.m. Kids and dogs are welcome at this family-friendly event, which supports Safe Connections, an organization that provides prevention education, crisis intervention, and counseling to support domestic and sexual violence survivors. The event fee is $25 and registration is available online.

If you’ve always wanted to run away and join the circus, this event in the Illinois ‘burbs is perfect for you. The run benefits the Shriner’s Hospital in St. Louis and happens at 6:30 p.m.,  just before the Shriner’s Parade, so you can stay and enjoy the fun. All runners receive an athletic performance shirt and a finisher’s medal. This year’s event will have a wheelchair division.

If you’d like to get out of the city and enjoy a run in Missouri Wine Country, this is your run. The Grape Race heads out from Chandler Hill Vineyards in the beautiful town of Defiance and promises to offer a really lovely Memorial Day event. Advance registration is $25 for the 5K and $30 for the 10K, with race day registration priced slightly higher. Start your summer by conquering the hill at Cuivre River State Park. Choose the family-friendly 1 mile fun run, or tackle the 5K or 10K over pavement and trails. This year, kids 12 and under are invited to participate in the 1 mile fun run for free, and they’ll also get discounts on the longer runs. All proceeds from this event benefit the Troy Area Chamber of Commerce. This event promises a day of natural beauty, a great workout, and a sense of community with refreshments at the end of the run.
