River City casino falling short of revenue projection

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (AP) — The St. Louis area’s newest casino is falling short of revenue projections.

River City casino is now projected to generate slightly less than $8.2 million in its 10 months of operation this year, and a little less than $10 million in 2011.

St. Louis County Chief Operating Officer Gary Earls says officials had originally anticipated the casino would produce $15 million a year.

So the latest and greatest casino is bringing 66% of the monies it said it would.

While our mayor lobbied for yet another casino by the Chain of Rocks area, which would rob existing casino’s of their customers, he has failed to focus on the security of the citizens.

Crime is rampant in St. Louis, murder is at epidemic rates.

Let Cape Girardeau worry about under performing casino’s and St. Louis protect it’s citizens.
