Lawmaker Seeks to Streamline MO Driver’s Test
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMOX) - No more taking the driver’s test in Missouri in eleven different languages if Missouri State Representative Jerry Nolte has his way.
“To make sure we’re all on the same page, language-wise,” Nolte said Wednesday as a guest on KMOX’s Mark Reardon show.
Nolte’s top concern: safety.
“It’s important that (license applicants) be able to read English to the degree that they can know what those signs say and can communicate with officers and emergency personnel,” Nolte concluded.
Nolte’s bill is in committee, but he has no word on when it might come up for a vote.
